cake stand

a cake stand, to display fancy baking on. made with left over plates from the tea cup candles i've been making. will post some photos. there are always odd bits of plates and dinner sets, old glasses too, so stick them together, however all credit must go to B1 flatmate em, who does it much better.

Red Dress

This is Sabrina.

I spent the last few weeks of the summer making this dress for Sabrina.
She wore it to her debutante's ball.

Thai silk, silk lining and blooming loads of swarovski crystal beads.
Classic colour, pure luxury.

a bag in a bundle.

this is a bag i made as a gift.

it wraps itself up.
but the materials were rather thick for my machine,
so fingers crossed the stitching will stay.

i quite like it.
and the smell of lavender.
which i am drying to make those little things you put in your drawers and wardrobe so your clothes don't smell like smoke anymore...

Scarf underway

Found this chunky yarn down in London some time ago - seeing as I can easily get tired of knitting scarves because it's quite slow, the combination of the thick yarn and the hole pattern of the scarf make it really quick to knit.
It matches the colours of Anthony's hat, but I think this one will have to be a gift to someone slightly more feminine... :)

Mustard is the Way

Here comes the other hat I promised to post -
Quite straightforward but nice; presented to you on the lovely Shane's head:

Keep warm pt 3

I knitted this hat between Christmas and New Year's, and to my big surprise, it's owner loves it and wears it all the time. I quite like the colour combination, but the knit itself is quite loose. I blame this on lacking hat-making over the past few years... I need practice! However, I made one more which I sent to my friend Shane in America, which was more successful I think. I'll try and get a picture of it to show.

Just some inspiration...

Actually Naomi's picture, but I thought it so beautiful it ought to be showed to the world!
Such amazing textures and a great combination of natural/man made. If only all things built were this considerate to their surroundings!
